Former St. Louis postal Mail Handler admits to stealing $68K in checks

From the article: "...A former mail handler with the United States Postal Service pleaded guilty Wednesday to federal charges related to pandemic loan fraud and...Anthony Virdure II, 30, admitted to one count each of mail theft and wire fraud. The plea follows a series of investigations initiated after law enforcement discovered multiple stolen checks linked to Virdure’s place of employment—the St. Louis Processing and Distribution Center, located at 1720 Market Street.

The investigation began Dec. 1, 2023, when U.S. Postal Inspectors were summoned by Hazelwood police after 30 checks were located inside a rental vehicle that had been returned."
