Former postal worker union official sentenced for embezzling more than $74K in union funds through 265 unauthorized transactions over 3 years

From the article: "...Former American Postal Workers Union Local 95 official Susan E. Miller was sentenced on Sept. 15 to four years of probation, 100 hours of community service, and ordered to pay restitution of $40,100 following an investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor that found Miller abused her leadership position within the union for her personal financial benefit.

An investigation by the department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards found that Miller, while serving as treasurer of American Postal Workers Union Local 95, signed and cashed at least 137 unauthorized checks worth $68,818 between December 2019 to December 2022. The unauthorized checks were drawn on the union’s account and made payable to Miller for her personal benefit. ..."

From the article: "...In compliance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), “Re: PTF One-Time Voluntary Reassignment Opportunity,” the Postal Service will provide a list of available full-time residual duty assignments for Part-Time Flexible (PTF) clerks to select within their own district. This applies to PTF clerks who were on the rolls as of Sept. 21, 2024, and who have completed their probationary period in installations with less than 100 career clerk craft employees. The Postal Service will include these residual duty assignments on eReassign for the September 2025 posting and will list the assignments by District.

The full-time residual duty assignments are from installations with 100 or more clerk craft employees ..."
